As you plan your special event, here are some things to keep in mind when renting linens:

*Does you final count for chair covers include the head table? Sweetheart table? Does your venue set full tables, even if it is more than your final count? Do they set an extra table 'just in case'? Will you have a vendor table?
If we arrive and there are more chairs set than anticipated, will you want them covered?

* Most damage to linens is caused by burns and wax. Make sure adequate ash trays are available in any smoking area. If using candles, make sure they are dripless, and that votive candles are placed in large enough containers. Most companies will charge you for linens damaged beyond repair.

* Staples, pins, and tape can also damage linens. Do not use these to drape linens. Get advice from your linen company as to how to achieve the desired effect.

* Check with your event location about their policy concerning outside linens.

* Ask about the size of linens provided by the event location. You may or may not want additional tablecloths and overlays.

* There are a variety of chair styles. Be sure you are comfortable with the look of the chair cover on your chair.

* NEVER attempt to clean the linens, either by washing or dry cleaning; this can damage some fabrics, and set any stains that exist.
